hackspaces.org was created in response to hanhaiwen's German blog article criticising that hacker can be construed as a male-centric term, and therefore hackerspace excludes a lot of people the community would actually love to welcome.

I felt a duplicate effort of hackspace listings would be pointless, and thought instead a proxy/filter combination would hopefully contribute to show the community's ability to transform. It was inspired by and shares code with the Noisebridge parody site Nosebridge and was implemented during the Hackathon 8 at Metalab.

Logging in works by now, but editing is not yet supported (ha...)
