The Chaostreff Bern is a meetup of hackers in Bern, Switzerland.

We meet every Tuesday evening - everybody is welcome.

The Space[edit]

The Chaostreff Bern originally started out as a regular gathering in a restaurant, but we soon decided to rent some space at the Güterstrasse 8 in Bern. Our room is about 50m² in size and offers tables and couches for discussion and hacking. Recently, we also added a little workstation for soldering and some storage space. However, we don't have too much space for permanent installations because we're not the only parties renting the room. The building has a kitchen that we can use, a table tennis and a foosball table, as well as a fridge with cold Club-Mate and beer.

Meetups[edit]

We meet every Tuesday evening, starting at 19:00. Everybody is welcome, visitors are invited to pay CHF 5 per evening. On a normal evening, there will be about 10-15 people there. Additionally, we also meet on every last Thursday of the month in the Restaurant Brasserie Lorraine.

Membership[edit]

A membership at Chaostreff Bern costs CHF 240 per year. See our membership page for details. If your financial situation does not allow for that, don't hesistate to talk to us. We'll find a solution that works out for everyone.

Projects[edit]

Our split-flap displays
  • We recently purchased a bunch of split-flap display modules from the Swiss Federal Railways and plan to build a display with them
  • We're building a barcode-based system for pre-paid Club-Mate purchases
  • Our members run various services such as Jabber or a Git server

In the media[edit]
