Sustainability That's for the Earth. Fighting the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. That should be our goal.

How do we do that? By created better order than the energy expended.

Also, there's an interesting science and religion question here: if entropy is the nature state of the universe, what is it that gives it so much order? Ask your atheist professor how he explains giant order that was the Big Bang.

Consider this situation: millions of low-efficiency cars (average gas-car 35-40%) driving to dead-end unsustainable jobs far away from their suburbs. Our millions of BTU's spent heating huge 5% duty cycle volumes of space. Large plasma screen TVs to watch grown adults get paid millions of dollars to play sports. You CRT savings just went out the window. Guns and toxic foods making billions of hospital bills.

All this is gross waste. Completely criminal.

And, yet, the secular humanist answers of wind power, tidal power, and electric cars only perpetuate the culturally impoverished, consumer mentality. It's like pain receptors. If you numb the pain, the body will just up its threshold of risk. No the system has to maintain balance. If you take tidal power, the wind will reduce out at sea for sailors. These are trade-offs you can find out the easy way (here) or the hard way.

Just how fsking justified to think all these people are wanting more energy?

Yeah, so it's a rant AND truth.
