There are no saving-throws in v6, except a new character can get up to 3 death saves (maybe 4 if they're 18 or under and sacrifice a higher die for a more natural ability score at the time of the PC creation -- see Creating Your Character?). After that, there is no resurrection without talking to the Black Dragon. And s/he doesn't come around very easily.

For every death save, there is a permanent -1 CON (unless you're faery). It makes the gods a little nervous to use these services. Try to tighten up your game play. These saving throws are not transferrable without sacrificing everything you have.

If the character is imported from another game and level 10 or higher, reduce by 1. If it is level 20 or higher reduce again by 1. This is just the cost to play, your imminence. Who really knows how good your XP credits are, hmmm?

May also wish to subtract out for older players. Players over 40yrs lose their death saving throws after the character gets to their own age. This is called "reaching maturity".

Saving throws can be used if you forfeit a time-Slot. If, for example, you are cast with "frightened", you can say "no I'm not" and roll a d20. If your throw is higher than the points of the spell (100 mana = 2 hp), then you reduce the spell by one, depending on how deep the spell is. You can keep rolling if you didn't hit your target. If an ancient red dragon, for example, you simply go from "frightened" to "shaken", and you have to re-roll to undo that.
