Right, now then...

Several races inhabit the realms, and you must choose one and stick with it for the rest of your days. There are no further mixed blood races except as already named here and the dragonborn, so accept the apparent limitation, for these are the race-kind which have been steadfast and separated themselves to explore their various natural distinctions (generally different separations of yin vs yang). The primary attributes are listed as well as their sub-racial attributes.

  • faerûn, outer-intellent: adventurous or crafty; most mixed race, makes it very capable, but not as specialized,
  • afriqan, survivor: defiant or easy-going; almost the opposite of the above,
  • al qadim, perceptive: headstrong or absorbtive.
  • azhian, nimble: stylistic or deferential
  • elven, internal-intelligent: aloof-austere (high-elf) or aggressive-stoic (dark-elf)
  • dwarven, hardy: boisterous and talkative (over-mountain: "hill") or belligerent and grim (under-mountain: "duegar")
  • færy, agile (flyer): excitible or etherial
  • dragonborn, fierce: assertive + cunning; since they are part reptilian they excerise both, there's no subrace only different colors.
  • aryan, noble: industrious or contemplative

If you are typecast to the race or play exceedingly well(?) to your race, you get bonus modifiers up to +5 (LVL 75). If you marry both of your racial (sub)types, you will have achieved epic-level mastery of yourself.

Other races from before this version? Save them for NPCs. I'll argue that they are not appropriate for game play.
