Principles of society is like the statement of purpose for an organization: it forms the foundation on which you legitimize your use of resources, organize or manage people, and take up space.

For humans, the base principles both above and beneath all others (hence, pillars) are liberty and justice for all. But that may not be enough to create the products that you want. You may have to create incentives, develop leaders, educate children, and develop the law.
