Perceptivity (PER) is the ability to tune into the environment. It is specially good in feral creatures.

For example, good perceptivity might allow a player to notice that a brick in the wall is slightly displaced from its neighbors or that someone had been there recently. If you are an explorer, the higher your level, the more power you have to detect such things. The equation is something like PER * LVL/20. For explorers, the divisor is changed from 20 to 10 (5 if you've double-classed with two explorers).

If PER is zero, a player cannot see, hear, smell, taste and loses fine sense of touch. Perceptivity comes from the intensity of interactions with physical environment and sensitivity.

Players can gain +PER by eating uncooked foods (most players: temporary), climbing high mountains (Aryans: permanent), otherwise disciplined meditation in very high-quality settings enhances. They can lose -PER by rowdiness or triviality. These effects generally dissipate at next level gain, although such effects could be locked-in by imbibing a poison (after surviving, of course).

Max amount for player or NPC is 20.

DM notes:

  • +PER: eating only uncooked foods, climbing high mountains (Aryans: permanent), otherwise disciplined meditation in very high-quality setting.
  • -PER by rowdiness or triviality
  • If 0: player cannot see, hear, smell, taste and loses fine sense of touch.
