Paper is the stuff of scrolls, town notices, town news, laws of the city, and spell-books. Paper-makers can become the servants to the mages, or to the magistrates. The Printers are used to make the city churn. What they print acts as a force: the city moves after one round.

As papers are often translucent, they are sometimes used for windows to let in light without the wind.
