User:Average/Minimize Driver Distractions

When you get to 200mph, if you can't pay attention to the road, you've put yourself and other in danger. Each turn becomes a highly-charged event where you have to keep all the forces in check: steering, braking, acceleration, and friction on the road. You miss any step and you could wind up dead.

The average jaunt down the road on a motorbike requires continual attunement to about 8 different complex inputs:

  • other drivers on the road vs. unexpected behaviors,
  • things entering the road vs. braking distance,
  • traction,
  • steering wheel trajectory,
  • wind,
  • current engine load and performance characteristics,
  • your vehicle weight and availability of braking,
  • and other in-car distractions

You don't want an excess of information taking your attention.
