Flags (banners of cloth waved for significance) preserve group identity and communicate affiliation.
Flags should be interpretable by the use of symbol and color. A good flag should show the fine craftsmanship revealing the pride of its creators and members.
In other words, flags should be evaluated by these criteria:
- technical proficiency
- use of symbols
- attention to the use of color
- quality of fabric when used for ceremony
