The Faerûni are the original people of the Faerûn--home of what are now known the Forgotten Realms. Since the fall of the original lords caused by their confusion of the astral realms, there have been several other races, but these remain the original people. It was here that a mage sorted out the confusion. Here lies the link between Middle Earth and the Forgotten Realms.

They are characterized by light-colored skin, slender build (compares to ogres), and their use of what has come to be called the "common tongue". They are capable of many trades and specialties, but few master any one.

Their main trait is "generic-intellent" and split into subraces of being either adventurous (tends away from civilization) or crafty (tend towards civilization). Given their main trait, they are good with language.
