Various factions (are they guilds?) exist which one can join to find companionship within the lands. Magical guilds accumulate power, must like a temple. Magical guild`s power converts to group mana that can be drawn upon by others within.

Magical guilds:

• Zhentarim -- (aka Slytherin)
• Order of the Gauntlet -- (aka Gryffindor)

Other factions:

• Emerald Enclave -- (aka Ravenclaw)
• Harpers -- (aka Hufflepuff)

Organizing forces:

• Lord's Alliance -- (faculty and staff)

Subconsiously or not, they seem to be differentiable around four primary elements of alchemy.
