Player constitution is a variable that reckons your experiences of handling the Unknown. It is mostly a factor of ancestry and your relation to your past. These events accumulate into your CON score. The greater your CON the easier for your body to self-heal.

If you've experienced getting cut deeply, your reaction will determine whether you develop +CON or -CON from it; that is, whether you develop the codes to handle it easier at next experience. If you go towards fear, your body can't create those codes. That isn't always bad. Your fear may make you take towards a different path where others might find death, perhaps you'll be a healer, for example.

A DM might consider another dimension to CON that would create fractional values within a particular range available beyond about 12 (a general minimum constitution to receive these benefits, children could start lower). 16/10, 16/20, for example. These fractions represent attainments in dealing with the outer world and affect HP regeneration. If you get to 16/90, for example, that may be superior than having a score of 18, as your regeneration might be fast enough to offset the lessor CON score.

In some conditions, player HP can be converted into higher constitution and vice versa. The conversion is 10HP to 1 CON. In a life threatening situation, for example, Dwarfes can do this. If the gods are favorable, various classes can do this to aid their battles.

In order to self-heal from cuts, you need mana and help from the gods, or a good herbal poultice. This goes faster if you are serving to the magistrate and leader of the realm you're wounded in. Your "stewardship value" is a factor of how many badges you've received from the city or realm. XXXin DRAFT. A 100% value means you might have all the available healings in that area + "cure light" wounds each round (this should depend on the LEVEL of the realm leader).

Players can gain +CON by eating meat of animals who are stronger than themselves and being in virtuous favor with the gods who created the animals, otherwise taking a back seat and following others slowly restores or increase. Can lose -CON if thinking for oneself in group situations. If 0, player has no ability to weather a hit or handle harsh conditions. Characters becomes totally shaky and weak, similar to the flu. Better lay down and rest.
