I can't tell you if the apocalypse is going to happen or not, where everything is going to collapse in society. But, I can tell you if no one does anything to fix the world, that it is certain.

People have assault rifles. There's a limited supply of gasoline for transport. Manufacturing would probably ground to a halt. You might be able to hole up in your house for, what, a year? Before or after you go crazy. People will be looking for some of that food.
