Still alive ?[edit]

Is hackerspaces.org still alive? Everything looks so outdated.

Yes it is! Dcht00 (talk) 21:22, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

PLEASE UPDATE THE FRONT PAGE[edit]

shit, the pictures are horrid, old, outdated, the description is unwelcoming. kinda nerving when I'm inviting new people to the scene and they are turned off by a picture of an empty room and another of a bunch of fat guys doing nothing but sitting around

Why can't we have a rotating highlight that spotlights each hackerspace or a few, that are in operation? Posting recent pics of the hacker community in action, building something?

Good idea. You're welcome. Make yourself comfortable, register a wiki user and post your http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/User:[your_nickname]/front_page_proposal - the wiki gardeners will be delighted to transfer good stuff to the front. --PK 00:33, 27 February 2013 (CET)

--why can't it just be open to edit for everyone?

  • Concur on the opening edits on the front page. Let reverts, Special:RecentChanges, and it`s own visibility from the community do the work. WikiPedia became a success that way. It can be protected later.

Resources[edit]

Should really have Design Patterns as the first item of the list. It both conveys the pathos of the hackerspaces ideal, as well as nicely naming and providing it`s ethos. Xer0Dynamite (talk) 15:43, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Can remove item. Front Page redesign makes this comment irrelevant. Xer0Dynamite (talk) 23:13, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

License[edit]

I was not able to find a license for this sites content. HackerspaceWiki:Copyrights redirects to Wikipedia Copyrights. Can I assume, that this pages are all CC BY SA 3.0 ? --User:Toka 19:25, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

yes.

Additional section[edit]

I like the redesign and the pairings (Find | Create, etc). I think you should add one more: Work | Play -- to allow a page for technical know-how, games, and side-items. You can put D&D, monochrom, Hack the Law, and such there.

Hacking Resources[edit]

Could somebody add a section for sharing resources for building stuff? Many hackerspaces have their own lists of guides, software, tools, supplies, links to other resources, etc, but with the hackerspaces.org domain name here maybe these things could eventually unify in one place.
