Collab is an arts & science collaborative, founded to provide space, technology and fabrication equipment to Artists and Scientist from a wide variety of interdisciplinary pursuits. Housed in a 5500 square foot architecturally designed loft, built from reclaimed, recycled and sustainable materials, the members of Collab work on their individual ideas and initiatives while collectively interacting with the community, developing socially, educationally and environmentally conscious programs and solutions for this new era. Collab has designed classes in robotics, arts, electronics and applied geometry (through origami and pattern making) for inner city youth, teaching these classes to kids from the 5 boroughs in our space for free with the belief that imagination is best explored through making and creating objects at the intersection of art and technology.
