Wikipedia is a collaboratively edited, multilingual, free Internet encyclopedia supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its 24 million articles, over 4.1 million in the English Wikipedia alone, have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world. Almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the site, and it has about 100,000 active contributors. It has become the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet, having an estimated 365 million readers worldwide. As of January 2013, there are editions of Wikipedia in 285 languages including Albanian language.

At Open Labs hackerspace we recognize the importance of one of the most important, open and collaborative tools of the internet age and celebrate Wikipedia.org 11th birthday with the first event of this kind in Tirana, Albania. The event will have the character of a workshop which means that if you bring your laptop with you you’ll have more fun.
