No longer an active community, as stated on their site.

Tinkersmiths is a community oriented Makerspace in Charlottesville Virginia. Our primary goal is to create a shared space were people of all ages and walks of life can create and learn at little to no cost. We are working towards becoming 501(c)(3) non-profit.

We have organized a groups creatives, thinkers, engineers, and artists, also known as "makers" who collaborate in workshops. Both as event leaders and event participants. We share knowledge, tools and resources amongst each other and the whatever audience that has an interest.

This collection of assets makes more for affordable access to tools and skillets that one not necessarily be able to afford on their own. An individual may choose to rent a section of the makerspace solely for their own purposes, choose to share their space with other members or even offer up there knowledge and equipment to the general public for educational proposes. The makerspace will promote merging science and technology with fabrication. We encourage experimentation and the creation of ideas within our community.

Tinkersmiths Makerspace currently offers hands on educational classes and workshops ranging from electronics with Arduino, Raspberry PI and hobby robotics, model rockets, EL Wire, wearable tech, programming, woodworking to building tracks and cars for the Cville Chapter of the Nerdy Derby.
