The Innovation Circle is a collaboration between the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) and Launceston technology company Bitlink. The Innovation Circle aims to provide a place for multi-disciplinary collaborations to produce innovative interactive museum experiences. With direct involvement and access to museum staff, the Innovation Circle will seek to provide a unique environment for developing projects with a positive social outcome.
QVMAG has provided a workshop situated in the Battery Shed on their Inveresk site. This workshop provides an ideal space for the prototyping and production of hardware and software to help realise the aims of the project. Materials and expertise are also being donated by founding members of the Innovation Circle. In addition, the project aims to repurpose and recondition technology that is considered obsolete, turning e-waste into practical hardware.
