SideWalkLabs

The mission of SideWalkLabs is to promote the unity of art, technology, and

making in the Anderson/Greenville area of South Carolina. To do so, our goal is

primarily to obtain a physical location for interested people to meet, work on

projects, collaborate on ideas, hold workshops, and educate themselves and the

community through teaching, learning, and exchanging skills and ideas. This

physical location is often referred to as makerspaces, or hackerspaces.

We are a group of like minded people with common interests, usually in

computers, technology, digital or electronic art that meet, socialize and/or

collaborate. We are an open community incorporating elements of machine shops,

workshops and/or studios where hackers can come together to share resources and

knowledge to build and make things.

Our physical location will be member-driven and member & community-funded.

Once the member base is built we will file for 503(c)(3) status.

Are you interested in being a part of this? We have a meeting coming up on

October 23rd, 2010 from 4:00pm - 5:00pm in the food court of the Anderson Mall.

Please take the time to check out our webpage at www.sidewalklabs.com and

register for the forums so that you can join the discussion and stay informed on

the progress of this project...
