Newport Makerspace (Creudy Casnewydd in Welsh) is a well equipped makerspace in Newport, South Wales. We are set up in Maindee, which is an area with high levels of deprivation and we are the first makerspace / hackspace project in the city. The governing organisation is a community interest company and the makerspace has a focus on being social. The makerspace is very well equipped and has three rooms for woodwork, metalwork, textiles, electronics and hacking. We have a metal lathe, CNC, laser cutter, 3D printers and lots of other kit. Every Tuesday evening we run an open evening called Makers' Night which is a free to attend social, this is the best way to see the space and meet the members if you are new. Details can be found at our Wiki.
