The DPL Design Challenge is an informal initiative among consenting, participating creative communities and hackerspaces who aim to extend and share all forms of knowledge far and wide. DPL stands for the "Defensive Patent License" formally launching in November 2014. The challenge is to join the DPL patent pool and implement prototypes of available patents. Thus the benefits of these prototypes can be shared among design challenge participants, as well as extended to the wider hackerspaces movement.
