The temporärhaus is a volunteer-organized third place and hack and make space in Neu-Ulm. The temporärhaus has a soldering and wood workshop, event rooms and other equipment such as sewing machines, a knitting machine, pen plotters and a laser cutter. The rooms are also an explicit point of contact for activities and events relating to free knowledge, open data, e-government and free licenses.

Organisation[edit]

The non-profit association temporärhaus e.V. forms an organizational shell for the voluntary commitment around the temporärhaus. It runs the rooms together with the non-profit Haus der Nachhaltigkeit in Ulm, Neu-Ulm und Region e.V. on its own, financially supported by Wikimedia Deutschland. To drop by during opening hours, take part in events events, organize your own events or generally get involved in and around the temporärhaus, you do not need to be a member of the association.

Membership[edit]

A membership is not needed to take part in any of the public workshops or programs. If you feel you contribute a lot, you can become a member by sending a mail or talking to the "Vorstand".

History[edit]

After Wikimedia Deutschland had already supported the activities - especially with a focus on Wikidata - in the previous premises in Ulm from 2016, the temporärhaus has been funded as a local space since 2023. The temporärhaus is open to all interested parties during regular opening hours and events, which can be found in the calendar. The rooms are also open to other groups that are committed to free knowledge and open data and want to organize events on this topic.
