Sample Studios is an artists' collective organisation run by volunteers and part time staff. It recently absorbed the Forma Nexus hackerspace, which was formed itself from the merger of the Forma Labs and Nexus Cork hackerspaces. In so doing, Sample Studios embarked on becoming a hackerspace as well as a general creative arts centre.
Facilities include a relax & cafe/kitchen room, an auditorium and media 'black box' room with projection screen (under reconstruction as of 2nd June 2017), a photographic dark room, a large workshop space with A1 inkjet printer, printing press and screen printing, textiles, graphic design and DIY facilities & tools, the Forma Nexus hackerspace and DIYBio lab room, a multitude of studios for artists, designers, recording and mixing, media and creative making, offices, meeting room, toilets, shower, plenty of storage, community vegetable garden and the all-important internet connection. There's also a massive crane in the attic, but it's not currently much use without demolishing the rest of the place!
