The Baltimore Node

The Baltimore Node is a member-run space where people can hack, craft, and make interesting things in a supportive, collaborative environment. The Node follows in the Hackerspace model flourishing in cities around the world: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Berlin, Sydney, and many more. Members receive 24/7 access to the space, which is stocked with shared and donated tools and equipment. In addition to the informal exchange of wisdom and experience that comes from simply working in a shared space, the Node sponsors regular workshops and events on a broad range of topics.

At the beginning of August 2009, the Node moved into an 800 sq ft space inside the Load of Fun building at 120 W North Avenue. In December of 2010, the Node moved on up to a 1300 sq ft space on the third floor of the LOF building. In March 2013, the Node has ventured to a 2300 sq ft space on Oliver Street. In 2015 we moved to what is likely to be our home for a very long time, at 2106 N Lovegrove Street, our newest and biggest location. Part of Baltimore’s Station North Arts District, the Node is centrally located and accessible by light rail, bus, or bike. If you’re driving to the Node, you’ll find it right in the alley between Charles and St Paul St at 21st street. Lots of free on-street parking is available around the adjacent blocks.

The Node pays the bills through membership dues, donations, and revenue from community workshops. You can show your support for the Node by making a donation at baltimorenode.org. We are incorporated in Maryland as a 501(c)3 non-profit. Membership dues are $50 a month and reduced rates can be arranged based on need.
