Welcome to HACKERCDA - Bubblegum Corporation (not incorporated, just cool sounding)

There is an incredible pool of talented people living in the Coeur d’Alene area. There are many who have great ideas and innovations. The projects are innovative and commercial, but most participants universally care deeply about passing on their expertise and engaging with the community. We're are creating a HackerSpace that provides an environment for cross-pollination of ideas and sharing of skills and (scarce) resources / equipment.

Unlike many user groups, Bubblegum Corporation (not incorporated) HackerSpace is predominantly about doing and building your project (some or all of it) in a shared space. Occasionally we present or show and tell, but we strongly encourage active participation and learning through hands-on involvement ...

Currently we meet most Thursday nights, and one weekend per month. (The space can also be open during regular business hours based on availability.) We have a commercial space in Coeur d’Alene which is located in a pretty central location. We would like to move to a larger space but are limited by costs and the limited number of innovators and hackers in the greater Coeur d’Alene area.

If you are interested in helping establish this HackerSpace, please contact ken@bubblegumcorporation.com or via Twitter:@bubblegumcorp

Note: If your project is proprietary, contains no open-source components, and you fundamentally can't talk about it and share aspects of it with the open-source development community we would still love to have you. However, you should consider the commercial and economic advantages of protecting only the key aspects of your venture and prepare your organization to leverage both open-source hardware / software and contributing back to the community that saves you time and money, as well as reducing risk!
