The idea of neo-industrialism is to contrast with current industry.

Old industrialism focussed on production and exploitation of labor, relying on the markets to inform value.

Neo-industrialism focusses on pairing innovators with machines and tools to create true value, relying on the people to inform value. It is (or should be) marked by sustainability and harmony for a post-transition planet. To this end, there is formed the new corporate domains of B Corporations and cradle-to-cradle manufacturing.

If the old industrialism was defined by top-down individualism and heirarchy, neo-industrialism is marked by interdependence and collaboration.
